Supreme Court will hear health care case

The Supreme Court will allow arguments in March on the Health Care bill signed into law by Obama. This will give the Supreme Court plenty of time to decide on this case before the 2012 elections. This is a good idea to conclude this divisive piece of legislation so everyone can have a clear head on election day. My major concern is with the Supreme Court. This is the same court who decided the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case, the results gave corporations and super PACS unbelievable powers to sway elections. Although I have little faith in our three branches of government, I’m still hopeful for people to do the right thing. MSNBC continues:

“Earlier this year, the Obama Administration asked the Supreme Court to consider legal challenges to the health reform law and we are pleased the Court has agreed to hear this case,” White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer said in a statement reacting to the court’s decision. “Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, one million more young Americans have health insurance, women are getting mammograms and preventive services without paying an extra penny out of their own pocket and insurance companies have to spend more of your premiums on health care instead of advertising and bonuses. We know the Affordable Care Act is constitutional and are confident the Supreme Court will agree.”
