An Artist Asks: Whose Business Is Our DNA?

In 2013, the artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg created masks of strangers based on genetic material left behind. Her work deals with questions surrounding privacy and genetic surveillance—namely, what regulations do we have around DNA collection? This short film on her artwork was directed by Veena Rao and Emily Sheskin, and animation and art direction was done by Eric Rothman.
